Nicole & Scott's West Vancouver Yacht Club Wedding | Cleveland Dam Portraits & Sunset by the Sailboats

Some wedding days feel effortless from beginning to end, and Nicole and Scott's celebration was exactly that. With a beautiful mix of incredible scenery, meaningful moments, and an amazing group of family and friends, their wedding at the West Vancouver Yacht Club was one of those days that reminded me why I love photographing weddings.

Before heading to the ceremony, we met at Cleveland Dam for their portraits. It's one of my favourite locations in North Vancouver because it offers such a dramatic backdrop without feeling crowded. Towering trees, mountain views, and the iconic dam create a setting that's both peaceful and adventurous. Nicole and Scott were completely present with each other, making every photo feel genuine and relaxed.

From there, everyone gathered at the West Vancouver Yacht Club, where the ceremony took place on the outdoor patio overlooking Burrard Inlet. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Nicole and Scott exchanged vows with the ocean sparkling behind them. The intimate atmosphere made every laugh, every tear, and every smile feel even more meaningful.

One of the things I love most about weddings at the West Vancouver Yacht Club is how the scenery changes throughout the day. As the sun began to set, we slipped away for a few quiet minutes together on the docks. With sailboats gently swaying in the marina and golden light reflecting across the water, it was the perfect setting for romantic sunset portraits. Those peaceful moments away from the celebration often become some of my favourite images of the entire wedding day, and Nicole and Scott's sunset session was no exception.

Back inside, the evening quickly shifted from heartfelt speeches to one unforgettable party. As soon as the dance floor opened, it stayed packed all night. Friends and family brought incredible energy, filling the room with laughter, dancing, and celebration. From the first dance to the final song, it was an epic dance party that perfectly reflected Nicole and Scott's fun-loving personalities.

Looking back through their gallery, what stands out most isn't just the beautiful locations or the stunning sunset—it's how connected everyone was throughout the day. Every hug, every happy tear, and every celebration felt authentic, making it an absolute joy to document.
