Travelling over from Vancouver, I was so excited to photograph this wedding surrounded by the people who mattered most to the couple: their closest friends and family. Set against the historic architecture, beautiful gardens, and timeless elegance of Hatley Castle, it was the perfect setting for a celebration filled with love, laughter, and meaningful moments.

With the last of summer in the air and the first hints of fall colours beginning to appear, Victoria put on an absolutely beautiful show.

Getting Ready at the Rosemead Hotel in Victoria

The day began at the elegant Rosemead Hotel, where the couple and their wedding party spent the morning getting ready.

There is something special about the anticipation of a wedding morning. The little details, the finishing touches, the laughter between friends, and those quiet moments with family all help tell the story of the day.

The atmosphere was relaxed, joyful, and full of excitement as everyone prepared for the celebration ahead.

Wedding Portraits at the BC Parliament Buildings

Before heading to Hatley Castle, we took advantage of Victoria's beautiful downtown scenery for portraits at the iconic BC Parliament Buildings.

The impressive architecture and surrounding grounds made for such a timeless backdrop. Victoria has no shortage of beautiful locations, and the Parliament Buildings are always a favourite for wedding portraits.

As we wandered around the grounds, the beautiful seasonal colours added another layer of warmth to the photographs. The combination of historic architecture, fall foliage, and soft end-of-summer light made this part of the day especially beautiful.

A Fairytale Wedding at Hatley Castle

Hatley Castle is one of those venues that never loses its magic. Located in Colwood, just outside downtown Victoria, Hatley Castle offers an incredible combination of historic charm, European-inspired architecture, and stunning gardens.

From the grand castle exterior to the carefully maintained grounds, every corner offers something beautiful to photograph.

The couple chose to celebrate with their closest friends and family, creating an intimate and meaningful atmosphere. Rather than a day focused on a large production, the heart of this wedding was being together and celebrating the people who had been part of their story.

The late-summer setting was incredible. The gardens were still lush, while the first hints of autumn brought beautiful golden and warm tones into the landscape. It was that perfect in-between season when summer hasn't quite said goodbye, but fall is beginning to make its appearance.

An Evening Filled With Celebration

As the day transitioned into the evening, the celebration continued with incredible food, beautiful details, music, and plenty of time on the dance floor.

Every element came together to create an unforgettable experience, from the thoughtfully designed florals and tablescapes to the entertainment that kept the energy going.

What stood out most was how much love surrounded this couple. Having their closest friends and family together in such a beautiful setting made the entire celebration feel personal, genuine, and full of meaning.
